Our Purpose

Vision:

To empower people to create violence-free communities.

Mission:

The Little River Band of Ottawa Indians (LRBOI) is dedicated to upholding the sovereignty of Native families that have been victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. The LRBOI accomplishes this by providing families with a sense of empowerment to improve their well-being, and by increasing their self-worth so that they can be self-reliant. The LRBOI is also committed to educating Tribal communities on issues of domestic violence.

What is the VSP?

The Victim Services Program (VSP) is a direct service program that provides free services and support to victims and survivors of intimate partner violence and other sex crimes regardless of their gender or sexual identity. The length of time since law enforcement involvement (or the lack of), or the length of time since the assault, abuse, or crime has no impact on services in most instances.
